COACH TRAINING GUIDE

Step 6: They want more info ... Now What?!

So…. Now that people are seeing your coming out post, what do you say to someone who is interested?

Every new coach questions this at first.  The best advice I can give is to approach the conversation with how you can help them and talk to them just as a friend would versus thinking about convincing them to do something.

Think about it this way: If you were not a coach and just joining a challenge group as a participant, would you freak out and question yourself about how you would explain what you are doing to your friend? No! You’d just share the basic details, what inspired you to do it, and ask them if they want to join along! That is all you need to reply back with!

For the below examples, let’s pretend that I am you and I post a picture (post-workout) talking about how excited I am that I’ve lost a couple inches on my new program. Then, a friend comments:

I saw your post!  That is so cool!  Can you tell me more about what you are doing?

This is how I would respond back to her ...

Hey Laura!! Thanks for love on my post! I was so nervous to even share that pic! I am not at my goal YET -- but it feels good to be getting a little closer everyday now! So, details on what I am doing … I’ve watched a friend of mine kill it for months now while working out from home and to be honest, I was a little skeptical at first, but after a while I was like I need to get in on this! Haha! So, I shot her a message and she told me about these accountability groups she’d been doing inspired her to stay with it while working out from home (she has an 11 month old). So I signed up this past month and WOW! I feel like I am on fire!  My workout mojo is on point and the nutrition stuff has been really simple, especially the fact that one of my meals is a chocolate shake!  The group I am in right now is already closed, but I am starting round two in a couple weeks if you want to join along with me!

OR I might send something like this ...

Hey Sarah! Awesome! I would love to fill you in. The group is a 21 Day Virtual Fitness/Nutrition challenge for a group of ladies who want to get into our best shape. It includes a LIVE virtual fit club where we workout with ladies from all over the country. We have tons of clean recipes, cooking tips, and meal plans.  Also, we work on emotional well-being, not just physical health and help to hold each other accountable to our workouts and eating clean.  Have you ever done something like this before?

Some type of response ....

After she answers, assuming it is natural to continue the conversation, I would ask her something like this ...

What are some of your goals fitness-wise right now?  Like… do you want to tone up, build muscle, eat better, lose weight, etc?

Some type of response ....

Again, let her answer, and then ask some more questions to better understand what her needs are. Assume that this person is going to sign up. Don’t focus or worry about a “no”. Confidence is contagious and they want to know you are confident in what you have to offer. Ask these types of questions to help them sell themselves on the idea of the challenge.

What do you struggle more with, nutrition or exercise?

What do you like to do for exercise?  Cardio, weights, high intensity interval training, kickboxing, yoga, pilates, dance, bootcamp style, something else?

How motivated are you to make a real change?  Is this something you are wanting to get serious about right now?

Some type of response ....

If she is still engaged in the conversation and is connecting with you, when the time is right, proceed with sharing some info about what you are offering.  Something like this ...

Based on what you shared, I know we could make MAJOR progress on your goal of ____________!  The only thing you would need to do to join in the group is to order a Challenge Pack. This includes all your goodies for the challenge:

> 1 year membership to Beachbody on Demand with EVERY Beachbody Workout Program ever created, it is like the “Netflix of workout programs”

> Two AMAZING nutrition programs to choose from (one for people who prefer flexibility and more volume, and a second for people who prefer structure and portion control).

> Your choice of all-natural superfood supplements. We have a nutrient dense superfood smoothie AND other drinks that boost performance and repair muscle.  Oh, and we even have snack bars now!

> Access to me as your personal coach and my Challenge group/Virtual Fit Club for support and accountability

This is all included for just $160.  A Savings of $115.  Does this sound like something you would enjoy?”

The most important thing is for you to just have a natural conversation with her.  You are not a sales person, just a friend sharing what you decided to do and inviting her to join you.  You are not pretending to know it all or to be some super-coach.  Don't be afraid to just be yourself, because you are amazing!

You might not have anyone interested right this second, and that is perfectly fine!  Just remember that you can refer back to this page in the training guide if you need it when the time comes.  And as always, if you need help answering specific questions or if you feel like you are not connecting with people as effectively as you should, then please reach out to me!  I am here to help you and I would love the chance to help you through your first few conversation about sharing this opportunity with a friend!
